A comprehensive eye exam is the first step to your overall eye health. Atlantic Eye Physicians we pride ourselves on the thoroughness of our eye exams. Your eye exam will, at the very least, include a refraction (check for glasses), intraocular pressure check, and a dilation of the eye to examine the back of the eye.
Your doctor will assess your eye health by testing how well your eyes focus, how well they work together, how well you see close up and far away. We will look for signs of eye diseases and talk about your lifestyle. If you need vision correction, we will find the best solution to improve your vision.
We recommend that you bring any current glasses or contact lenses and a list of medications you are currently taking. You will be asked for your insurance card and to complete several forms regarding your health and medications. After your examination you may experience some blurriness of vision and light sensitivity due to the dilating drops. It is best if you bring a pair of sunglasses to wear to protect your eyes, and a driver, if needed, to help you get home.
